OIT Technology Meetings

The OIT Technology Meetings are a joint venture between MSSG and OIRT. The goal of these meetings is to provide a forum for members of the Rutgers IT community to share their knowledge and ideas with their peers. The meetings open with any relevant announcements, followed by two or three presentations, then adjourn into one or two break-out sessions. The presentations are 10-15 minutes plus time for Q&A. The break-out sessions may or may not be follow-ups on topics covered in the presentations.

The presentation topics are selected based on suggestions from the group, as well as what is believed to be of interest to the general IT population. The topics can be an OS related tip, or a non-OS specific technology. The presentations are made by members of the Rutgers IT community who have volunteered to share a topic with which they are familiar.

The meetings are normally held on the first Wednesday of the month, at 1:30 PM in Center Hall of the Busch Campus Center. The meeting location has to be changed on occasion because of scheduling conflicts. The meetings are also suspended in the summer months and in January. The meeting time and location, along with an agenda, are always sent out to the PC_LAN_ADMINS mailing list within a few days of the meeting.
